Overview
Identified as a priority of the Commission for the Future of the University and approved by the Board of Visitors on October 3, 2008, the Institute for Faculty Advancement (IFA) is a set of faculty development programs focused on supporting, inspiring, and rewarding excellence at all stages of a faculty member’s career. All of our initiatives provide faculty with high quality resources, access to expertise, and experiential learning opportunities. Workshop and program foci are based on stated needs, institutional priorities and growth opportunities, as well as national research on best practices.

Getting Started @ U.V.a.
Getting Started @ U.V.a. provides support to early career academic faculty through high quality workshops and cross-Grounds, cross-rank, networking opportunities. All workshops are open to all interested faculty.
Leadership in Academic Matters
Leadership in Academic Matters (LAM) as an intensive faculty development program focused on supporting, rewarding and building networks amongst those who have demonstrated leadership characteristics and future potential.
