DH Mixer

Thursday, November 30, 2017

4:15pm to 5:45pm

Harrison Small Auditorium

Hello DH colleagues and friends:

Please join me for a DH mixer next Thursday, November 30 at 4:15. We’ll be welcoming visitors involved with two other DH events on Grounds:

In addition to the usual tasty finger food and libations, at this mixer you can expect conversations about everything from digital annotations of historical maps to digital reconstitutions of destroyed art. These projects are examples of the digital humanities at their most generative, and we’re fortunate to have this opportunity to learn about others’ scholarship, collaborations, tools, and processes. I hope you can take advantage of all of these events.

  • When: Thursday, Nov. 30 from 4:15-5:45
  • Where: Harrison Small Auditorium, downstairs in the Special Collections building
  • Please register here:  simple registration form

I’d also like to draw your attention to DH@UVa’s calendar of events, where, with the help of the intrepid DH Communication Committee, I do my best to list all of UVa’s DH events.  I hope you find it useful.  Please don’t hesitate to submit an event or contact me with questions or suggestions.

All best,

Rennie

About DH Mixers:

DH Mixers are sponsored by the offices of the VP for Information Technology, the Dean of the Libraries, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and the Provost.  They are organized by Rennie Mapp, project manager for strategic DH initiatives. (Please contact me at mapp@virginia.edu with any questions or concerns.)

About DH Mixer registration:

It  helps if you register here so that we can have a nametag printed for you, and so that we can let the caterers know how much food and drink to provide. But if you don’t register for some reason and then discover at the last minute that you can attend, you should absolutely just show up—and bring a friend or colleague!

About the DH Communications Committee:

The DH Communications Committee meets on a biweekly basis to ensure communication and collaboration among the DH organizations at UVA as well as to support the DH@UVa website. Its members are John Alexander of SHANTI; Rennie Mapp, editor and manager of DH@UVa; Laura Miller of Scholars’ Lab; and Sarah Wells of IATH.
